On 12/4/24 at 2:30 p.m. the dispatcher received a call for a fire at a vacant house on Clubhouse Dr. Chief-30; while responding observed a smoke condition from a distance and had the dispatcher assigned mutual aid depts. upon C-30’s arrival he transmitted a working fire and implemented dept SOG’s for residential house fires. TL-14 arrived 1st due and stretched a hose line to the house which was heavily involved in fire on all floors. For safety reasons the operations were designated as exterior due to collapse within the build. TL-14 members operated their hose line to attempt controlling the fire. Due to the heavy wind conditions that made operations difficult. E-15 arrived 2nd due and stretched a 2nd hose line and attempted to extinguish from the side of the house going down a 100 ft embankment, and secured positive water. E-7 arrived and assisted the crew from TL-14. Additional mutual aid depts responded and assisted with various tasks= Sound Beach FD, Miller Place FD, Brookhaven Nat Lab, Wading River FD and Ridge FD. Tac Support responded and provided rehab to operating members with the crews from A-12 and dist EMS crews. Fire police members kept the scene secure. There was one minor inj and was transported to local hospital. The incident is under investigation by Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshall and SCPD Arson Squad.
