On 12/24/23 while units were operating at an automatic fire alarm, the dept received a second call for a motor vehicle accident with possibly person trapped. FP-18 arrived 1st and confirmed an occupant trapped in a vehicle involved in a an auto collision. Chief 30 arrived on scene and assumed command by implementing dept guild lines for operating at an auto collision with a person trapped. A-16 arrived and immediately began patient care while awaiting disengagement. R-4 & TL-14 arrived and put there Jaws of Life into operation. Soon after members from E-3 along with E-17 arrived and assisted with manpower. A-8 arrived to assist A-16 in the event a second patient was present. Suffolk County PD Aviation section was requested, but unable to land due to adverse weather conditions. The Sound Beach FD was requested to assist in securing a landing zone. Dept fire police units responded and secured a safe zone around the accident and potential landing zone. One patient was extricated and transported to the trauma center.
